Hi guys,
please let one of the officers know if you plan on coming or not (competing or otherwise). If you're competing, please give us the required forms (pages 3-4 from the tournament packet, etc) by Saturday. (You can email them as well if you want to kfan at purdue dot edu)
if you're spectating, please let us know if you need a bento lunch + rooming by Saturday as well so we can make the arrangements.

Hey guys,
I made an error sending the email out. Just pass us the dues whenever next practice is/you see us, we don't really mind.
Sorry for the confusion T_T
See ya guys next practice!

Hey guys! Hope the first two practices were alright so far ;D
Just a reminder/friendly annoucement: We have a yon-dan sensei (4th level teacher, 1 being lowest and 8th being the highest) coming in from Michigan on Sept 15, Tuesday. It'll be an interesting experience and we recommend that everyone come for it.
Also, the deadline for club dues will be the end of September. It is $40 if anyone forgot. If you have questions on how it will be spent, please read the Treasurer's Note on the website.
Some things to remember:
- dojo etiquette
- practice session etiquette (seiza, etc)
- komae (basic position in practice)
- footwork
- posture
- parallel footing
- 70-30 weight distribution
- most importantly, relax but alert
That's it for today! We hope to see you guys next week!

New Semester!
Hey guys! Welcome back and all that good stuff.
Armoured and unarmoured people, there are practices tomorrow (8/25) and Thursday. We are holding practices every Tuesday and Thursday until Sept 10 (Th), and hopefully by then I can post the schedule up for everybody.
There's some stuff coming up, but we'll tell you more about it as it approaches...
If you are unsure of anything don't hesitate to email any one of us (or call or sms).
See you soon!

Summer Practices
Good morrow! We hope all of you will have a great summer.
As the title suggests, there are some chances of extra practices throughout the break.
If you are at Indianapolis, there are Suguwara sensei's weekly Thursday practices at the MetYMCA. If you're interested, contact Brian for more information.
However, most of us won't be fortunate enough to have a sensei near us. If you want to keep up with kendo, going through swinging exercises and suburis would greatly help. When in doubt, go to Youtube/email one of us and we'll try to help out.
There'll be more updates as school draws closer (the horror ;A;). Until then have fun! And try not to break anything, bones or otherwise. It'll hurt.

schedule
heya,
I changed the schedule page on the website since someone mentioned that not all people have Office.
The old layout is back (click on the image to make it larger), plus a downloadable .png format of it (image) and a link to download the Excel sheet.
If you didn't come to Thursday's practice, there are some things to keep in mind:
- both club and AUSKF dues are by the end of the month (this sunday). if you can't make it, please inform one of the officers and we'll work something out.
- This Saturday's practice is from 3-5pm, not 6pm (see below).
- We were invited to showcase for about 15 minutes on Saturday at the Purdue Village Community Center for their International Culture Day. It'll be at 6pm, but we'll be meeting beforehand at 3pm for practice and a rundown. If you're interested, come at 3! Please don't show up for practice and appear at the performance expecting us to tell you what to do. Since this is different from the callout, we may change things since we have a limited time to work with.
(free drinks and snacks! so come! XD)
That's about it. see you guys at practice!
