just some FYI on the non-bogu competition

Hi Kelly,
At present we don't have enough people to hold the non-bogu competition (Unless your roster includes several non-bogu competitors). The idea was that each 'match' would consist of two competitors demonstrating kirikaeshi, men, kote-men with moto-dachis (The motodachis wear the tasuki so you know which is red and which is white). The three shinpan would each judge which competitor showed he best example after all of these basics were demonstrated. Majority of judges determines the winner.
Pairings would work just like any other tournament for that.

MSU Tournament Info

Current plan is:
Leave Saturday evening.
Stay overnight at hotel.
Tournament on Sunday.
Leave after tournament for Purdue.

------------------

If you are driving by yourself, do note that we cannot reimburse you for gas + toll fees.
Purdue has always required us to list the participants and the drivers to each event, but now they require each driver to fill out a Risk Management Form.

What this means is:
if you have NOT given me a MSU form AND you are driving, you cannot be reimbursed. (Which I apologize for. Purdue sucks.)

If you're thinking that there's some way to cheat the system, long story short, can't. If for some reason you're interested to know why, just contact me.

------------------

that said, we need drivers for carpooling. Please let me know by Tuesday night if you can make it so I can plan accordingly. If you have a request (eg. want to sit with someone), let me know.

------------------

I will be making hotel reservations Tuesday night at 10pm. If you do not reply/let me know by then if you are coming with us/need a room, I will assume that you have your own accommodations and will not make any provisions for you. I will not and cannot change the reservation after it is made. So this time, I cannot entertain late notifications.

------------------

If you've told me you needed lunch after I sent the forms in, MSU is providing it buffet-style, so you will have to pay, but you'll get food.

------------------
That's all I can think of. Please check back in case of changes.

Dear all,

Hope you guys had a great Spring Break! This Saturday (27th), we have a few
guests coming down to join our practice. We have Fox sensei leading
beginners' practice, and Matsuura sensei leading the bogu practice
.
Yutaro sensei and some students will be joining us as well.

Imafuji sensei and Suguwara sensei might also be attending this practice.

As you can see, we have quite a few senseis coming to visit, which doesn't
happen often, so use this opportunity well and come to Saturday practice! If you
don't know already, it is held in the South Gym at the Co-rec from 3 to 6pm.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send us an email.

See you guys there!
